Our Story
March Hoops to Beat Blindness is inspired by my son, Brendan, who won his battle with eye cancer at the young age of 9 months. Ever since then, I’ve looked to find ways to support research aimed at preventing and treating blinding conditions.
March Hoops to Beat Blindness is an annual event held during the first round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. On those days, Myron Hepner pledges to watch all 32 basketball games played those days!
In exchange for the contribution of his time and effort, donations are requested in support of research programs at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center so other people who struggle with vision problems might also have a chance to enjoy watching sporting events.
